ПУ представя книга за въстанията и индивидуалните самоубийства

Доц. д-р Добринка Парушева ще представи книгата Usurping Suicide: The Political Resonances of Individual Deaths (S. Gupta, M. Katsarska, T. Spyros, M. Hajimichael – ZED: London 2017). Срещата е днес (9 ноември) от 16.30 часа в 10 семинарна зала.

В тази колективна монография са изследвани съвременните контексти, които придават, управляват или деактивират политически резонанси на индивидуални самоубийства. Тя предлага нов концептуален подход към изследването на самоубийствата с термини като „суициден текст“ и „суициден архив“ в полето на рецепцията и представлява опит за плътно описание на нашето съвремие в контекста на строгите икономически мерки след финансовата криза 2007/2008. Отделните глави са посветени на Мохамед Буазизи в Тунис, Димитрис Кристолас в Гърция, самозапалванията в България през 2013 г., а освен това са взети под внимание и „икономическите самоубийства“ в Италия и самоубийствата, последвали изземванията на ипотекирани домове от банките в Испания.

На срещата ще присъстват двама от авторите. Книгата излиза като резултат от сътрудничеството между Философско-историческия факултет и Филологическия факултет на ПУ “Паисий Хилендарски“ в международния проект Framing Financial Crisis and Protests: North-West and South-East Europe (2014-2016) (http://www.open.ac.uk/arts/research/finance-crisis-protest/).
